Living Hope Senior School

A Beacon of Education and Faith in Kenya

Living Hope High School is an accredited boarding school in Bungoma, Kenya, serving orphaned and underprivileged youth. Founded in 2009 in a rented shed with just four students, it has grown into a thriving campus through the faith, vision, and retirement savings of Marilyn Uhl, with the assistance of her sister, Helen.

Today, through generous donor support, we provide 88 students with safe housing, healthcare, and quality secondary education, with enrolment expected to reach 130 students by 2028. The school employs 13 teachers, 15 support staff, and 2 management staff, and is led by USA/Kenya international coordinators and directors Elvis Mukamba and Charise Millsop. Together, we equip students with knowledge, practical skills, Christian values, and confidence to break the cycle of poverty and become future leaders.

Through faith, academic standards, and holistic care, we help children break cycles of poverty and discover their calling in Christ.

FAITH. EDUCATION. COMPASSION.

How We Support Our Students

Faith & Christian Leadership

We foster spiritual growth through daily devotions, evening prayer, and four years of Christian education taught by a local minister. Our campus also hosts weekly community worship services, while our student choir regularly ministers locally, helping students grow in faith and share God’s love. Over the next three years, we will fully transition to Kenya’s CBE curriculum, offering Grades 10, 11, and 12.

OUR IMPACT

Living Hope by the Numbers

Through faith and the support of our global community, we have grown from a single rented shed with four students into a fully realized educational campus in Bungoma, Kenya.

ABOUT US

Empowering Students
Bringing Hope

Grounded in the teachings of James 1:27, Living Hope High School is dedicated to caring for vulnerable children through daily faith and practical support. We operate not just as an academic institution, but as a safe haven that protects students from extreme poverty, exploitation, and disease. By combining a fully accredited secondary education with secure boarding cottages, nutritious meals, comprehensive healthcare, and daily spiritual guidance, we work to break generational cycles of poverty. Our goal is to empower these young men and women with the tools, health, and faith they need to build bright futures and lead their communities with Christian values.
